38-year-old seeds still bear fruit, too
I mentioned the song Peace Be Unto You in an earlier entry called “35yo Seeds Bear Fruit ,” and it’s a “featured post” that can be found below. But I thought I would revisit the song since I uploaded a video of it onto YouTube last week -- and there is yet another story associated with the song. You can find the video here: https://youtu.be/PdzkGIemVzM It will bless you. Check it out.
I continue to be amazed by the stories that have accompanied this song – a song that almost wasn’t even included on the Inhabit My Praise CD. The most recent story involves a woman who was a caregiver for her mother, who eventually died. She contacted me and told me that this song provided “healing in my heart.”
I have probably mentioned it before: one of the Great Blessings of my life has been as a songwriter. It is truly a very humbling experience when the Lord has given you a gift and directs you in utilizing that gift -- and it becomes a significant blessing to someone else.
But we need to keep in mind that we ALL have something to give and something to sow. I read just recently this passage: “In the morning sow your seed, And in the evening do not withhold your hand; for you do not know which will prosper, either this or that, or whether both alike will be good.” – Ecc 11.6
You truly don’t know what kind of impact something will have in the lives of others. This song was written in 1986. You could not have told me then that it would still be having an impact in 2024. And as I mentioned in the earlier post: “It’s nice to be reminded: all the seeds we plant over the years make a difference. And all the seeds that you’re planting are making a difference, too.” \0/
